Nutrition Counseling
Intuitive eating nutrition counseling for a wide range of needs, including disordered eating, eating disorders, diabetes and other chronic conditions, and family/child feeding.
What is nutrition counseling?
Nutrition counseling is a collaborative and non-judgemental space for you to gain insight about nutrition and explore your relationship with food, wellbeing, and your body. I specialize in treating disordered eating, eating disorders, diabetes, and other chronic conditions through an intuitive eating, weight-neutral framework.
Before starting this work, many of my clients report feeling
preoccupied with food-related thoughts,
concerned and confused about their health, and
unsure of how to make positive changes in the way they relate to food.
Let’s get grounded in your body.
In the counseling process, we work together to identify patterns in your eating behaviors and beliefs. We lay the groundwork for you to achieve your unique nutrition goals, without restriction and rigidity, and work to restore trust in your body’s physical cues. I lend my expertise in common dysregulated eating patterns and help translate nutrition science into relatable terms. My hope is that you leave our work feeling empowered, confident, and with increased clarity around your food choices.
I am here to help you explore the art and science of eating with joy, flexibility, and trust.

Pursue recovery from eating disorders, dysregulated eating behaviors, and chronic dieting. I’ve received extensive training and supervision in this area, with a special interest in binge eating behaviors.

I offer expert guidance on Intuitive Eating (IE), a weight-neutral framework for nutrition and eating. Unlike diets, IE does not focus on restriction — instead it grounds your eating behaviors in your physical cues, feelings of satisfaction, health values, and connection with your body. It’s a wonderful tool for those looking to improve their relationship with food.
-
With over 1000 patient hours counseling on diabetes management, I can work with you to find a sustainable way to manage your Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes. I’ll help translate the science of your body’s needs into easily digestible of information. Together, we can find actionable and achievable updates to your eating pattern and lifestyle that help you reach your diabetes goals.
-
Navigating the dinner table can be hard. I have a special interest in promoting positive food relationships within a family unit by helping young children, teens, and their parents move away from dysregulated dynamics and into a place of healthy communication about food and body image. Whether you have a “picky eater” at home, experience power struggles around food, or are looking for advice on protecting your children from disordered eating, I can offer counseling and guidance.
-
Positive nutrition can support fertility, the management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and regaining a missing period (amenorrhea). I can personalize nutrition guidance based on your specific goals and relationship with food, so your hormones and bodily functions can feel regulated and supported.

More about the process
In our initial session (60 minutes), we'll explore your “food and body story” – such as your medical history, past and current eating habits, and attitudes and beliefs about food and your body. We’ll begin the process of setting goals and envisioning a path forward. The duration and frequency of sessions varies by individual – we’ll sketch out a plan during our initial meeting.
Our follow-up sessions (45 minutes) offer support as you work toward your goals. Common topics include:
Education about your health condition, nutrition, and common eating patterns
Processing emotions that may arise with behavior change
Addressing negative thought traps and barriers to nutrition goals
Celebrating wins
Problem-solving and planning for upcoming meals or events
Discussing your physical cues (like hunger, fullness, satisfaction, cravings) to make sure you are satisfied and comfortable
Addressing body image distress and untangling food beliefs from body image
Challenging restrictive or disordered thoughts about food, and moving to a more expansive and responsive way of thinking about food
